Nordic bulletin - 2nd Quarter 2008

Welcome to the final issue of Genworth Financial's Nordic Bulletin in its current guise. From September, the bulletin will take a new format as we share with you our experience in other markets around the globe, as well as our local knowledge of the mortgage markets in the Nordic region. As a prelude to the new format, we have included an interesting article about Canada's mandatory mortgage insurance (MI) and how MI has made homeownership possible for those who would not otherwise be able to afford to buy a residential property.

Nordic bulletin - 1st Quarter 2008
Welcome to the first issue of Genworth Financial's Nordic Bulletin for 2008. In November last year we hosted our third Credit Risk Seminar in Stockholm revisiting the theme of, "The Future of the Mortgage Market". In this Bulletin edition we cover some of the main points raised as we debated the wider mortgage market and themes such as: risk awareness among Swedish households and young people's attitudes towards issues like loans and risk.

Nordic bulletin - 4th Quarter 2007
You are probably reading this Bulletin at about the same time as we are hosting our third Credit Risk Seminar in Stockholm. We are continuing with the topic from last year: The Future of the Mortgage Market and we will present an overview of this Seminar in our next Bulletin for those of you who could not attend. At the end of May we "exported" our Seminar concept to Helsinki, when we hosted our first themed seminar in that market together with our Finnish colleagues from Genworth's Payment Protection Insurance business.

We can now successfully put 2005 behind us and look forward to an interesting and challenging 2006 in the Nordic mortgage market. I think it's fair to say that we can probably expect lots of activities from all the players in the Nordic countries, lenders as well as regulators, which will make our daily work both hectic and enjoyable.
